NDP caucus asks for leadership review
A spokeswoman for the Newfoundland and Labrador NDP caucus says Leader Lorraine Michael is meeting with caucus members after they wrote a letter asking for a leadership review. Michael’s spokeswoman Jean Graham says the letter was sent to Michael over the weekend. Graham says the letter asks for a leadership convention in 2014 to ensure renewal ahead of an election in 2015. For a convention to be held, Michael would have to resign as leader or the party executive would need to sign a petition. All four NDP caucus members — Dale Kirby, Gerry Rogers, George Murphy and Christopher Mitchelmore — signed the letter.
