Father mistreated

The treatment patient John Gervais and his family received for not speaking French at the Hull hospital is nothing new.

In 1973 my father was a patient there and one evening when my brother walked into his room he saw the nurse (or perhaps it was an aide) hitting Dad and yelling “Parle français, parle français.”

Not new perhaps but just as repugnant now as it was 40 years ago.
