Bhaneja’s Hamlet enthralled his audience
Re: Hamlet fails to resonate despite its accessibility, Nov. 15.
I was very disappointed to read the Citizen’s review of Hamlet. I attended a preview performance on Wednesday evening and I found it outstanding.
Raoul Bhaneja did an exceptional job conveying the 17 characters without props and costumes and he effortlessly and smoothly shifted from one character, giving them all depth and humour.
The audience was completely enthralled; you could hear a pin drop. It has been a long time since I have seen a performer hold an audience so completely in his grip.
It was a remarkable piece of acting. If the performance did not meet the reviewer’s expectations, then those expectations were misplaced.
