‘Distraction’? Nonsense!

Re: Officer cleared in violent arrest, Nov. 15.

Ottawa police have cleared another officer of wrongdoing — this time in a violent arrest that was caught on video. He was shown repeatedly punching a downed man. The police said the video showed the officer was using “distraction strikes.”

This is utter nonsense, and another good illustration why police should not police themselves.
