Police seek Subaru driver after mother, daughter hurt in Highway 417 hit-and-run
Police are looking for the driver of a white Subaru after a hitand-run on Highway 417 Thursday night sent a mother and daughter to hospital with minor injuries. Ontario Provincial Police said the Subaru was driven aggressively and dangerously near Bronson Avenue around 8:30 p.m. A woman moved her vehicle to another lane to let the car pass, then it quickly pulled up behind her, passed at high speed, swerved and struck the woman’s car, sending it careering across several lanes of traffic. The woman’s car reportedly crashed into the right barrier, bounced across the road and hit the centre barrier. The 35-year-old driver and her 13-year-old daughter were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The Subaru drove away at high speed, police said. They are looking for a late-model, white Subaru Legacy sedan, damaged on the right side at the front, possibly marked with blue paint from the other vehicle. The driver is described as a balding white man in his 40s. Anyone with information can call 613-270-9171.
