Cats steal the show
With its commanding Colosseum, empirical resumé and Eternal City charms, Rome is hardly short of an attraction or two. But the cat’s whiskers for many visitors are the Italian capital’s feral felines. Rome’s noble ruins are a favourite haunt of the city’s hundreds of strays, says CNN, which has posted a list of six global destinations where cats steal the show. Number two is Japan’s Tashirojima Island, where dogs are banned and fishermen have created a shrine to all things kitty. Another Japanese island, Ainoshima, is a haven for happy cats who eagerly wait at port for the next catch.
