Airport’s ‘stitch’ in time
Put your feet up, passengers. Travellers at one London airport can now stroll the check-in desks in their slippers and browse the duty-free aisles in their pyjamas, thanks to a network of “stitched” images. Technology giant Google has mapped every corner of Gatwick Airport in the largest undertaking of its kind in Europe. The project will allow flyers to acquaint themselves with every inch of concourse — and every washroom — before they even leave their front doors. Michael Ibbitson, Gatwick’s chief information officer, said: “This latest technological development will make it easier than ever for passengers to make a speedier trip or the most of their time at the airport.”
