Buck stops with PM

Prime Minister Stephen Harper seems to be relying on a combination of the Rob Ford approach (“They didn’t ask the right question”) and the Bill Clinton approach (“I did not have sex with that woman”). It is now apparent, I believe, that Harper (and Sen. Irving Gerstein) must have known and approved the $32,000 payoff by the party to Mike Duffy — if not the final details of the eventual $90,000 cheque.

Either way, the buck stops with Harper and any payouts simply demonstrate a complete disregard of ethics and disrespect for accountable and open government — formerly their cherished goal.
