Negotiate in good faith

It is about time public service unions pulled out. They should have done it a long time ago, for this sick leave negotiation was “my way or the highway,” a stance taken from the very beginning to push this through the omnibus budget bill. The government was simply bullying the unions all along to get its agenda through.

Now, with this withdrawal from the sick leave working group first by the Public Service Alliance of Canada and now by the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, I hope the government wakes up and negotiates in good faith for its people.
