Police appealed for witnesses on Thursday to the head-on crash that killed Const. Mike Robillard last weekend.

Robillard, 32, was on his way to work around 3:35 p.m. Sunday when his car collided with a minivan on 8th Line Road near Parkway Road.

Robillard, a husband and father of a three-year-old boy, died in the crash that injured two other people.

The 29-year-old woman driving the minivan remained in hospital Thursday in stable condition. Her seven-year-old daughter was released from hospital on Monday.

While police continued to investigate the cause of the crash, Robillard’s funeral arrangements were finalized.

Close friends, family and colleagues will gather on Monday at 10 a.m. to honour Robillard at the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre.

A visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m.

Both the visitation and the funeral are closed to the public.

Robillard most recently worked as a detective in Ottawa’s east division district investigations section. Flags at police headquarters have been lowered in his honour.
