The ability to change, adjust and adapt to unexpected and unforeseen circumstances. One of the most profound verses in the Bible you will ever read is Phillipians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Too many people have bought into the lie that they can’t change. Although I think they are partly right, but only because so much doubt and cynicism can effectively cripple one’s ability to change.

There is nothing more inspiring to me than to witness, up close and personal, the very people who thought they could never change become literally new people from the inside out by simply “opening the door” for Jesus Christ to come in and have His way with them.

An untrustworthy philanderer becomes a faithful spouse. A conniving thief becomes the one who is making the deposits for the company. A greedy, covetous bully transformed into blessing others, putting in the time making sure his benefactors are up and running and selfsufficient.

A hopeless addict who has tried every available solution becomes whole, chemical-free, healthy, productive, fulfilled and content. The grieving, rejoicing in the comfort they are empowered to share.

Our capacity to adapt and make “lemonade out of lemons” so to speak, is mind-blowing. Even apart from God, we have been created for unlimited potential. No less an authority than God himself states such in one of the most profound scriptures you will find.

In Genesis 11:6, speaking of the builders of the Tower of Babel, who were in outright rebellion against God: “… if as one people they have begun to do this, then nothing they purpose to do will be impossible for them.”

So why settle for mediocrity when your Creator says that nothing is impossible no matter what your situation?
