“This is themost durable countertop you can put in your kitchen,” said Tammy Younker, an interior designer and inside salesperson at Granite Transformations. “While Trend Stone is 95 per cent traditional granite, the last five per cent is a product is called Forever Seal, which permanently seals all pores, where weaknesses lie in traditional slab granite. Regular granite can crack, chip and stain, and requires regular sealing, but that’s not an issue with our product. With Trend Stone there is no extra maintenance and you only need soap and water to clean it.”

“The installation is usually a three-part process,” said Tammy. “First, we visit a client’s home — anywhere within the Ottawa area — for a free in-home consultation.” On their next visit they review the design plan and take measure-i ments to create a template. Using the template they will fabricate the countertop at Granite Transformations’ shop.The slabs are cut exactly to fit over the existing old tile or Formica-style countertop. During installation, the slabs are adhered directly to the countertop surface with special adhesives. Finally, said Tammy, “the actual installation will take less than one day; we’ll arrive first thing in the morning, complete the installation and be gone by midafternoon.”
