THE STORY OF HOLLY & IVY
What: This show by the well-known Rag & Bone Puppet Theatre troupe features puppets, live music, a child actor who plays Ivy, and various elementary school choirs.
When & where: Dec. 12-15 at Shenkman Arts Centre, evening and matinee shows
Tickets: $10, or $32 for a package of four; shenkmanarts.ca or at the box office; 613-580-2787
What to expect: The troupe summarizes the plot thusly: “Holly is a Christmas doll who wishes for a child. Mrs. Jones and her policeman husband wish they had a little girl. And an orphan girl named Ivy wishes for a doll, a grandmother, and a place to go for Christmas.” It doesn’t get much more heartwarming than that.
