THE CANADIAN MUSEUM OF CIVILIZATI­ON CHRISTMAS MARKET

When: Friday, Dec. 6 (noon to 5 p.m.), Saturday, Dec. 7 (10 to 5) and Sunday, Dec. 8 (10 to 5) and Saturday, Dec. 14 (10 to 5) and Sunday, Dec. 15 (10 to 5.)

What: 50 local food producers and artisans, mostly from Quebec, including Fromagerie Montebello, Ferme Lavender Ridge and Miss Chocolat.

Where: Canadian Museum of Civilizati­on, 100 Laurier St., Gatineau

CARP FARMERS’ MARKET CHRISTMAS MARKET

When: Friday, Dec. 6 (3 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Saturday, Dec. 7 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

What: More than 65 vendors, some crafts but mostly food, including everything from grass-fed beef to French pastries. Christmas wreaths and sizzling elk sausage are among the goods on offer from a handful of brave outdoor vendors.

Where: Carp Fairground­s, 3790 Carp Rd.

Admission: Free

LOCAVORE ARTISAN FOOD FAIR (LAFF)

When: Saturday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What: 20 indie artisans, including Seed to Sausage, Top Shelf Preserves and Natali Harea of Nat’s Bread Company with her special old-world Christmas loaves of Italian panettone, German stollen and (don’t miss this one) Romanian walnut nougat cozonac. Get lunch from Stone Soup Foodworks or The Flatbread Pizza Company.

FLAVOURS OF OTTAWA WESTBORO HOLIDAY FOOD MARKET

When: Saturday, Dec. 14, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What: 20 artisan food vendors from the Ottawa Specialty Food Associatio­n, including Major Craig’s Chutney, TreeWell and bez gluten free. Get lunch from Relish food truck.

Where: Westboro Masonic Temple, 430 Churchill Ave.

Admission: Free OTTAWA FARMERS’ MARKET CHRISTMAS MARKET

When: Saturday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 15 and Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22, all from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What: About 80 vendors, including Hearty Bakery, Kulture Foods (gluten-free offerings) and of course Pascale with her special Christmas ice cream treats. With the Originals Ottawa Christmas Craft Sale (admission $7 for adults) in the same building (different rooms) at the same time, it can be one-stop shopping for all your Christmas needs. Lunch options include Hot Potato Company, Bearbrook Farms, Vegetarian Treasures and Bombay Garden.

URBAN CRAFT HOLIDAY MARKET

When: Saturday, Dec. 14, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What: More than 45 indie and gourmet producers, including West End Chiles, Cafe My House (with take-home vegan foods) and koko chocolates.

Where: The Glebe Community Centre, 175 Third Ave.

Admission: Free

FLAVOURS OF OTTAWA NEW EDINBURGH STOCKING STUFFER FOOD MARKET

When: Saturday, Dec. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

What: 20 vendors from the Ottawa Specialty Food Associatio­n, but mostly different ones than at the Westboro market the week before. Emphasis will be on gourmet stocking stuffers. Lunch for sale at the on-site café will be tourtière from Life of Pie, served with Major Craig’s Chutney.

Where: St. Bartholome­w’s Church Hall, 125 MacKay St.
