MINI-REVIEWS
Julia Carri, critic, Earl of March Secondary School: The hard work of the Tech Class served as the backbone of the production throughout, having set the stage magnificently with the creation of an elaborate, many-levelled junkyard.
Danielle Masson, critic, St. Joseph High School: The lighting really emphasized the mood, and with the use of a red light for a fighting scene, there was an evident mood of intensity.
Grace Bourgeois, critic, Holy Trinity Catholic High School: Taylor Hutchings played Jemima, who was portrayed as more of a comedic relief. Her high vocal range was phenomenal, and her commitment to her character was impressive, as was her ability to react to what was going around her through her actions and facial expressions.
Adam Wang, critic, Bell High School: Jana MacDonald and her makeup team were able to transform mere students into ferocious cats. The makeup was done so well that it was hard to match the students’ faces with their respective characters afterwards.
ABOUT THE REVIEWS:
The production at Sacred Heart High School was reviewed by 35 critics representing 11 schools. The critic discussions were mentored by Steering Committee members Katie Lewis-Prieur and Angela Dagg and student reviews were edited and selected for publication by parent volunteer Michele Rae of Woodroffe High School, who could see only the reviews, not the names or schools of the reviewers.
