Dog tale a crying shame

-

Re: Dog’s tale is a policing nightmare, Dec. 12.

As I read Christie Blatchford’s column, I felt many emotions and questions running through my heart and mind. First, for the loss of a pet, most traumatic, then anger that someone would steal someone else’s property (truck and dog Everest), then outrage as two police forces (Hamilton and the OPP) refused to do anything about it. Why? Are we living in the lawless 1800s? After all that a feeling of helplessness and outrage for this family. How can this be?

From this “tale” Ontarians need answers and remedies. For our provincial government and two law enforcement agencies to allow themselves to be held hostage because of fear and politics is unbelievable.

No matter who breaks the law, remedies need to be meted out. How else is it going to be stopped? There are far more questions than answers. What a crying shame for our beautiful province and Ontarians. Shame on our provincial government and law enforcers and shame on Six Nations Reserve for condoning it.
