Education: Law degree from the University of Western Ontario, 1978. Career: Practised law from 1980-81 and 1988-2006; worked as senior investigat­or for the province’s ombudsman from 1981-84; worked as internatio­nal audit counsel at Bank of Nova Scotia from 1984-88; member of provincial parliament since 2006. Hobbies: Gardening, skiing, running and walking her dog. Family: Elliott is the widow of former finance minister Jim Flaherty. The couple has 22-year-old triplet sons, Galen, John and Quinn.
