Unjust to severely penalize driver
Re: Jury made right decision, June 24.
Stopping in the fast lane of a highway is dangerous, but there’s more to this than can be summed up as letter writer Anna Strutt’s “no-brainer.”
Drivers should not be going faster than they can see in time to stop safely, and must be held responsible when speeding beyond the limits of vision set by headlights, rain, fog or bends in the road.
That is my view now, as it was during my motorcycling days.
It is unjust to penalize so severely Emma Czornobaj, the driver who stopped her car on a kind, but naive impulse. Stan Rosenbaum, Ottawa
