Ottawa police are seeking two men after a stabbing last week at the Carleton Tavern on Armstrong Street near Parkdale Avenue.

After an argument outside the bar, a 56-year-old man was stabbed in the groin area. He was brought to hospital in critical condition around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night. On Monday, the man remained in hospital in stable condition, police Sgt. Anthony Costantini said.

A police investigation has turned up two suspects. The first suspect, who police allege was caught on security footage stabbing the man, is described as a black man in his midto late-20s, about five-foot-seven and 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue Indianapolis Colts jersey, number 44, with shorts and running shoes. He was also carrying a “reddish” backpack and wore Dr Dre Beats headphones.

Police are seeking a second man as a potential accomplice. He is described as a black man in his mid- to late-20s, about six feet tall and 210 pounds. That night, he was wearing a white shirt, white shorts and dark shoes.

Both suspects left on foot, Costantini said. He confirmed that police believe the incident was isolated and not connected to gang or other criminal activity.

Anyone who may have information about either of the men is asked to contact Costantini at 613-236-1222 ext. 5635.
