Impatient driver moved fire truck

An impatient driver who took it upon himself to move a fire truck that was blocking his way has been charged with mischief in Petawawa.

The incident occurred June 22 when firefighters were called to a vehicle fire on Barron Canyon Road. While the firefighters were battling the flames, they noticed the man, who was not a firefighter, had climbed into the truck and began driving the emergency vehicle.

Robert Joseph Girard, 29, of Petawawa has been charged with mischief and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 4.
