The assault and sex assault trial of suspended Senator Patrick Brazeau has been postponed again, this time until mid-September.

Brazeau went on trial in March on charges that he beat up a woman he was living with in 2013.

The trial was supposed to take three days but has run well past that, on intermittent days.

Lawyers were back in Gatineau Court Tuesday for only a few minutes.

They had been scheduled to argue over whether Brazeau’s videotaped interview with police should be admissible, but the two sides talked it over privately and agreed to let the video be admitted as evidence.

It lasts 2½ hours and will be shown in court when the trial resumes Sept. 15.

The trial is before a judge alone.
