FIVE RUN SITES
The Terry Fox Run, a family-friendly event with no entry fee or minimum pledge, takes place on Sept. 20. Participants can walk, run or wheel the 1.5-km and 10-km routes. As in 1980, the Foundation hopes to raise $1 from every Canadian. There are five run sites in the Ottawa-Gatineau area:
Anniversary Park at Carleton University, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sir Wilfrid Laurier High School, from 8 a.m. to noon
Greely Community Centre, starting at 11 a.m.
Kanata Montessori School, from 9 a.m. to noon Aylmer Marina, starting at 10 a.m. Additionally, “warm-up” runs of 5 and 10 km are scheduled for Sept. 13 at 9:30 a.m., departing from the Canadian Museum of History. The first 35 participants to arrive at the museum will receive a free pass to its exhibit Terry Fox: Running to the Heart of Canada.
