Look to New York for how Uber should work

I think all of Canada needs to look into New York City’s use of Uber. My son just came back from visiting there and used Uber with great success and admiration.

Somehow or other Uber and the yellow taxi cabs work in unison and, using the app, one can choose between a vehicle with a child seat, a sophisticated looking black car, pooling — sharing the ride with other users, and even have food delivered.

Whichever cab is closest comes once you list your location and destination plus you can request an approximate cost for the trip.

I’m sure at the beginning there were problems when Uber came on the scene but somehow, from the user perspective at least, they were resolved. Virginia Dame, Ottawa
