Thousand Islands: Visit Thousand Islands National Park and take in the local art associatio­n’s annual show and sale Sept. 19, 20, 26, 27 and Oct. 3 and 4. Studio tour: The West End Studio tour marks 20 years with this year’s event Sept. 19, 20, 26 and 27. Walk, bike or drive to 15 studios in the Wellington West and Westboro areas from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Download a map at westendstu­diotour.ca.

Ottawa’s heritage: Learn about the city’s rural and suburban heritage, modern infill and more, with a keynote address on South March, at the day-long Heritage Ottawa Phillips Memorial Heritage Forum Sept. 26. It runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, 325 Sandhill Rd., Kanata, and includes presentati­ons and walking tours. Cost is $20 and you must pre-register.
