Australians ship adventure in a box

Take two steel containers, plop them in an offbeat setting and call it an adventurous night out. That’s the thinking behind the pop-up Spontaneity Suite now being placed in locations across Australia. A joint venture between a hotel booking app in Australia and the Ovolo Hotels chain, the suite comprises two shipping containers stuffed with modern amenities including floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a rooftop Jacuzzi. Rates start at $99 a night, with all money being donated to a food rescue charity. The purpose-built pop-up hotel has already been spotted in a wine-growing region of Victoria state and will then move on to a secret location in Sydney before hitting the road again.
