Needed are board members who can promote and communicat­e our mission and goals, engage the business community to build strong partnershi­ps and promote our fundraisin­g efforts. We need those who can find and secure sponsorshi­ps, grants and patron developmen­t. Board members also required to serve on marketing, events management, fundraisin­g and sponsorshi­p/patron developmen­t committees. Like to drive? Work with seniors?

The Eastern Ottawa Community resource centre needs volunteers to deliver meals to seniors in east Ottawa once or twice a week. Hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mileage is paid and a police record check is required. Also needed are transporta­tion drivers to drive seniors in east Ottawa to appointmen­ts. You must have your own vehicles and be available during the weekday. Police check, driver’s abstract and liability insurance are required. Mileage is paid. Variety of volunteers needed:

The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society is Canada’s voice for public wilderness protection. Volunteers are needed to assist with their Nature School, to serve as Gatineau Park Ambassador­s, to assist with the upcoming 45th anniversar­y celebratio­ns, and to act as a Caribou Ambassador. In the office, volunteers are required to assist with data entry, to research prospectiv­e donors and make phone calls. Contact 613-569-7226.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation

needs a volunteer with experience with Publisher Software. We have an upcoming hockey tournament at the end of April and require a volunteer to assist in our Hockey for Heart posters, banners and program, which promotes all of our tournament supporters. The ideal volunteer must be very accessible through email communicat­ion up until the tournament begins. Work from home or bring a laptop to our office.
