Don’t worry about tickets, just drive safe

I’m amazed at how many motorists are upset about this rule and seem to be afraid about getting a ticket. There are two police bicycles equipped with a device for measuring. Two! In order to avoid a ticket, just avoid passing close to a police bike.
This is really more of an awareness thing than a major source of ticketing. As a commuter cyclist, I find that 99 per cent of drivers give me sufficient room. Cars passing too closely is not a major issue to me. Peter Hickey, Gatineau
