WALES STUNS BELGIUM TO REACH SEMIS

-

Wales stormed back from a goal down to beat Belgium 3-1 in a pulsating quarter-final Friday in Lille. This time Wales did not need to rely on star Gareth Bale, as it fought back from trailing in the 13th minute. Unheralded forwards Hal Robson-Kanu and Sam Vokes settled the game with goals in the 55th and 86th minutes. Beware Iceland: Iceland’s run at Euro 2016 is no longer a surprise. “They deserve to be where they are,” French defender Patrice Evra said as the hosts get set for their quarter-final meeting. Iceland will be a very tough opponent.” Evra added France needs to start quickly after trailing Ireland in the Round of 16. “We need to be wary because ... at some point we won’t turn it round late.”

Saturday prediction: Germany 2, Italy 0. The Germans finally get the best of an Italian side that’s gone as far as Antonio Conte can take them.
