Sex assault suspect’s photo released

Ottawa police have released picture and video footage of a suspect believed to be involved in a sexual assault in Lowertown earlier this week.

The suspect, as seen in the video, is described as a 25-to-40-year-old white male with a medium build and short hair. He was wearing a green T-shirt with large white lettering, dark three-quarter length pants, brown boots and carrying a blue shoulder bag.

The alleged assault occurred early Wednesday morning in the 300 block of Clarence St. The male was travelling on foot.

OPS is asking anyone with informatio­n regarding this investigat­ion to call Ottawa Police’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) section at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloadin­g the Ottawa Police app.
