TIM McGRAW TO FROZEN

From a Disney cruise to a trip with a country superstar, cruise lines are pulling out all the stops to get more folks to book cruising holidays this fall and winter writes Jim Byers.

The animated hit Frozen will get the Disney Cruise Line treatment as a new stage show exclusive to the cruise ship Disney Wonder. Frozen, a Musical Spectacula­r debuts on cruises leaving Galveston, Texas starting Nov. 10, 2016.

Disney officials say the show will feature “transforma­tive scenery, snow flurries and stateof-the-art video technology.”

COMEDY AND COUNTRY STARS

Comedy and country music fans will be happy to know that Carnival Cruise Line has announced its initial 2017 Carnival LIVE lineup, featuring country music star and three-time Grammy Award winner Tim McGraw and comedians Jay Leno and Jeff Foxworthy.

McGraw will appear on the Carnival Breeze on March 2, 2017, and the Carnival Valor on March 3 while the ships are docked in Nassau, the Bahamas.

Foxworthy will perform on the Carnival Freedom and the Carnival Ecstasy on June 21, 2017, and June 22, also while the ships are docked in Nassau.

Former Tonight Show host Leno will entertain guests on board the Carnival Victory on May 3, 2017, and the Carnival Vista on May 4 while the ships are docked in Cozumel, Mexico.

BUILD-A-BEAR

Carnival also has entered an exclusive partnershi­p with Build-ABear Workshop that will bring a workshop to the Carnival Dream. It’s expected to be a fleet-wide experience on all 25 Carnival ships by summer 2017.

The workshop allows kids of all ages an opportunit­y to make their own cuddly bear and customize it with outfits and accessorie­s.

FUN FOR FIDO

The folks on the Queen Mary 2 hope to give your four-legged friends a boost at sea, as well.

The ship has just undergone $132 million in renovation­s that includes posh new spaces for dogs and cats. The Queen Mary 2 now has 24 onboard kennels — double the previous number — plus room for 2,961 human guests.

The QM2 is part of the Cunard fleet.
