Planning for the future of seniors’ care in our community

John and Jennifer Ruddy Geriatric Day Hospital will help transform care

- ANDREA MACLEAN

The John and Jennifer Ruddy Geriatric Day Hospital is enhancing lives and transforming care for the frail and elderly in our community. This unique program is vital to Ottawa-area seniors who need help with day-to-day living challenges such as: falls prevention, mobility/ transfer and medications.

The successful Days of Hope, Care & Dignity campaign will allow for renovations to this renowned service at Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital in the ByWard Market.

The new John and Jennifer Ruddy Geriatric Day Hospital will feature: a warm and welcoming registration hub, an indoor walking track, and state-the-art examination rooms to assist with research and academic learning. Renovations should be completed by summer 2017.

Thanks to the dedication of staff and management, over the last 15 months, the wait list has decreased from nine months to just over two months. This means more of the community are benefiting from the services at the John and Jennifer Ruddy Geriatric Day Hospital.

Thank you to The Trinity Development Foundation and all our many donors for making this important expansion possible.

You can support Bruyère’s enhanced senior health services. Through your generosity Bruyère will continue to offer excellent care to the people we serve.
