UPCOMING EVENTS RenoTour 2016: Six homes in the city’s core will be open to the public to showcase the design and expertise of local renovators who are part of the Greater Ottawa Home Builder Associatio­n’s RenoMark program. The event is on Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $10. More informatio­n at gohba.ca

Art sale: The Findlay Creek Art Collection Art at Home initiative opens to the public Oct. 27 and runs until Nov. 27 with works hung in three of the Tartan Homes models on Helen Rapp Way. They’re open Monday through Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m., as well as Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. In addition to creating exposure for local artists, the home art galleries will allow the public to purchase art directly from the artists.

Homes for the Holidays: Eight exquisite homes in Rockcliffe Park, Dow’s Lake an Manotick will be decorated for the holiday season and put on display Nov. 18 to 20 for a fundraisin­g tour in support of Hospice Care Ottawa. House tour: The fifth annual Christmas in Carleton Place House Tour, benefiting the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation, happens Dec. 3 and 4. Tickets cost $25 each and go on sale Nov. 1 at various west-end locations, including Carleton Place Nursery, The Beckwith Kitchen, The Hospital Gift Shoppe, Yarn Forward in Kanata, and Pretty Pots Flower Shop in Stittsvill­e.
