Public asked for help in hunt for thieves

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifyin­g four suspects linked to the robbery last week of a south-end jewelry store. During the heist, one of the men carried an aerosol can, which he sprayed and lit, turning it into a small torch police say. On Jan. 16 at about 4:20 p.m., a man walked into a jewelry store on Bank Street between Walkley and Heron roads and held the door open for three masked men. He left and the other three men smashed a number of display cases with hammers and made off with jewelry. The first suspect is described as being of Middle Eastern descent, with short dark hair, dark moustache, and a short beard. He wore dark sunglasses, a large watch on his right wrist, a winter coat with large fur trim hood, dark pants and shoes. The second suspect wore a dark, lightweigh­t Adidas jacket, with dark green stripes, black shoes black gloves and white socks. The third suspect was masked but described as Caucasian and wearing grey track pants. The last suspect was masked and described as Caucasian. He wore black sweatpants with a white stripe down the leg, a red/black jacket with a hood, black gloves and carried a red Goodlife bag.
