Claesson armed for goal celebration
If the hockey thing didn’t work out for Ottawa Senators defenceman Fredrik Claesson, he could have had a career in football — as a referee.
We know that because we’ve finally seen his arms-in-the-air goal celebration that looks just like a zebra signalling a touchdown.
In his 36th career NHL game, and 20th this season, Claesson found the range in Wednesday’s 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars. After Zack Smith won the draw, the puck squirted back to Claesson, whose self-described “knuckle puck” shot
eluded Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen.

The over the top celebration was the talk of the dressing room following the win over Dallas.
“It’s great to see him smiling, having a great time out there,” said goaltender Craig Anderson.
Claesson scored 13 goals in 285 games with Binghamton of the AHL. He had three in 82 games with Djurgardens in Sweden.
