Phantom, Les Miz, Illusionis­ts coming to NAC in fall, winter

New touring production­s of the long-running Broadway musicals The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables are bound for the National Arts Centre in the fall of 2017 and winter of 2018 respective­ly, to be followed by the popular, high-tech magic production The Illusionis­ts.

The Phantom of the Opera’s run will be Oct. 18-29, which coincides with the dates for the NAC Orchestra’s tour of Western Canada. Les Misérables is to play Feb. 13-18 next year.

Both musicals are produced by veteran producer Cameron Mackintosh and will feature new design and staging.

The Illusionis­ts, which will feature magicians who specialize in specific discipline­s of magic from stage illusions to escapology to mind reading, is to run March 27-April 1, 2018.
