Comedy Night for Parkinson’s takes centre stage
Parkinson Canada’s 13th annual fundraiser, Comedy Night for Parkinson’s, will take place at Centrepointe Theatres on Saturday, April 8.
This year’s show features comedians Don Kelly, Michelle Shaughnessy and headliner Scott Faulconbridge.
Tickets are $40, and available for purchase through the Centrepointe Theatres box office or at centrepointetheatres.com.
“Comedy Night for Parkinson’s is a great opportunity to get together with friends for a good laugh while supporting a very good cause,” said Shauna Quinn, events and partnerships associate with Parkinson Canada. “As part of this event, we’re also hosting a silent auction, a wonderful way for guests to show their support for those living with Parkinson’s and their families.”
Parkinson Canada, a registered pan-Canadian charity, is working hard to improve the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s and their families, while raising funds for education, advocacy and research.
There are more than 7 million people worldwide and 100,000 Canadians living with Parkinson’s today. That number grows every year, along with our aging demographic, and is expected to more than double by the year 2031. Parkinson Canada has been helping people affected by Parkinson’s for over 50 years through support programs and services (including free counselling and support groups), information and referral, education and awareness, as well as exercise programs.
