As a hairdresser and salon owner, Yves Briand meets a lot of people every day.

But over the years, his bad teeth got in the way of his employment and his happiness. “I do conferences and I teach,” said Briand. “I remember breaking my partial dentures and not going to work because I didn’t want to see my customers.

“I had a partial denture since the age of 16,” he said. “I had another tooth added on to my bridge and so on. I was always breaking my dental prostheses.” He also had back teeth missing in the bottom, but didn’t want dentures there.

“I thought there must a better way to do this!”

He went to the Internet for information, and feeling it was the best option, ended up at Dr. Michael Saso, a dental anesthesiologist at Sedation Dental Group.

Briand went to see Dr. Saso for a New-Teeth-in-a-Day consultation. “Dr. Saso told me he could do something for me, but he wanted to do both top and bottom to make sure everything was aligned properly. Choosing the colour, he said it was better not to balance the colour with the teeth I already had. After thinking for a while, 24 hours later I called him back and said ‘go ahead.’ I had the examinations, and he said my bone structure was perfect. I didn’t need a bone graft. Everything would be OK. He was happy and I was happy, too.”

The New-Teeth-in-a-Day procedure involves placing four post implants to permanently secure a new set of teeth. The minimally invasive procedure takes place while patients are asleep in a dental chair.

Briand was 56 when his permanent teeth were installed in August 2015. “Dr. Saso assured me I wouldn’t break these, and everything would be wonderful. I’m very, very, very happy,” he said. “I was laughing and crying at the same time, I was so happy. I felt as if I were 20 years old.”

“Now that we have financing available, the door has opened for many clients who couldn’t access this procedure before,” said Dr. Diane Dmytrowski, owner of Sedation Dental Group. “It’s great that we have that option so that people of all ages, in all walks of life, can get their life back, and their confidence back. I have observed firsthand the pleasure they receive from taking this step.”

Sedation Dental Group also offers additional dental and implant options for those looking for alternate procedures.

Sedation Dental Group is centrally located at 441 MacLaren St. For more information and a free report on implants, please visit Newteethinaday.ca or call 613-686-3855.
