Family, friends and other volunteers gathered at Rockcliffe Park Pavilion on Monday to split up into groups and search for Alexander Miller.

Miller, 29, was last seen Saturday in the area of Beechwood Avenue. Police released a photo of Miller but had no other details about the case.

“If there is anyone who knows Alexander or knows where he was last seen, we would be very happy to have that information transmitted as soon as possible to the Ottawa police,” said Donald Miller, the man’s father.

Volunteer search groups will be looking around the Rockcliffe, New Edinburgh, Lindenlea and Manor Park areas.

On Monday morning, about 60 people filled the pavilion in Rockcliffe Park, waiting to hear which area they would be searching.

“I’m a parent, so I understand. We’re hoping he can be found safe,” said Elise Aylen, a family friend.

The Ottawa police are still looking for Miller and are conducting their own ground search.

Anyone who has information about Miller is asked to contact the central district investigations division at 613-236-1222, extension 5166.
