ARREST MADE AFTER MOTHER FOUGHT OFF TOT’S ABDUCTION

A suspect has been arrested after a Winnipeg mother said she fought off a man who tried to abduct her four-year-old daughter. Police had asked for the public’s help in locating Ruben Kyle Mawakeesick, 26, in connection with the alleged abduction that occurred last week. Police say help from the public led them to a home Sunday, where they say Mawakeesick resisted arrest and assaulted two officers. The mother was walking with her daughter last Thursday when police say a man grabbed the girl and tried to leave with her.
