Well done to Canada Day planners

I was a tourist on the Hill for Canada Day. My family and I arrived by 8 a.m. and sailed through security. We had an excellent spot to view the festivities, despite the rain. It was a very moving, emotional day for me.

I saw the security all over the place and found it to be reassuring, not threatening. I am writing because all I have read in the paper these last few days has been negative. Maybe I missed the positive letters.

I want to say: Well done — to the security people, the police and others. You had a tough job. I never once saw any form of disturbance.
