Keep fighting for green tech, MPs

-

Re: Trudeau must step up on climate change at G20 summit, July 5.

I read the Nature article “Three years to safeguard the planet.” Green Leader Elizabeth May is unfortunately correct in her grim conclusion, “failure is not political or theoretical; it is apocalyptic.” Barely a whisper was heard in the media in June when the Standing Committee on Natural Resources (RNNR) tabled a report on de-risking clean technology adoption in the natural resources sector.

The RNNR committee, which includes Conservatives, was unanimous in its conclusions. Included in its eight recommendations was that the forthcoming national price on carbon pollution is evidence-based and transparent.

The Chinese character for the word crisis is made up of two symbols: danger and opportunity. Keep calm and keep co-operating and providing much-needed climate leadership, Parliament. The trend to clean energy is irreversible and a multi-trillion-dollar business opportunity awaits countries with the best carbon pricing policies. Go Canada!
