UP DATE UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

-

Taking a break from its usual summer holiday, Saturday Night Live returned recently with a special short run of one of its most popular and longest-running segments — Weekend Update. Anchored by the current team of Colin Jost and Michael Che, SNL’s Weekend Update Summer Edition is having a four-episode, prime-time run on NBC and Global on Thursdays. Weekend Update has been a staple since SNL launched in 1975. We remember some of the segment’s most memorable anchors.

?? NBC ?? NORM MACDONALD (1994-97): The comedian opened each segment with “I’m Norm Macdonald, and now the fake news.” Maybe that’s where Donald Trump got the expression.
