Airline says parents using kids to skip fees

-

Budget Irish airline Ryanair is accusing penny-pinching parents of enlisting toddlers to haul suitcases in an effort to avoid paying baggage fees. Ryanair allows children travelling with their parents to bring along a 10-kilogram suitcase free of charge, as well as a second small carry-on. But the carrier’s chief financial officer, Neil Sorahan, said that some passengers are taking liberties to avoid luggage charges. “I’ve seen two-year-olds wheeling a bag up to a plane as people try to take advantage (of the offer),” he said.
