Outaouais couple accused of stealing $100,000 worth of goods from homes

There wasn’t much these thieves wouldn’t steal.

Blankets, for instance: Thieves who broke into a series of homes in Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette and L’Ange-Gardien since last May stole blankets, and sheets too.

Also the following, as listed by MRC des Collines Police: “food, personal items, clothes (men’s and women’s), kitchen items, furniture, bedding, and blankets.” Also taken were tools, computers, jewelry, money and pressure washers.

More than 100 of these items have now been recovered, along with trailers (open and covered), a pickup truck and a motorcycle. The goods are valued at $100,000.

Ottawa police arrested Denis Richard, 51, of Val-des-Bois. His wife, whom police haven’t named, faces lesser charges.

MRC police are checking with the Sûreté du Québec who are in charge of neighbouri­ng territory.
