Malls and pot shops? Really?

-

Re: As retail spending slows, traditional malls evolve, Jan. 22; Are some ’hoods too poor for pot? Jan. 23

To quote the first line of the article about the evolution of malls, “Shopping malls now want to be known as a place where teens can just hang out.”

To quote Coun. Mathieu Fleury in the article about the LCBO cannabis retail arm asking municipalities for input on where to locate the first legal pot shops: “Shopping malls might be a good location, because they have good security, parking, access to transit and a mix of commercial uses.”

To quote myself, “I’m thinking that these two ideas are incompatible.”
