TINY DISHWASHER, BIG VALUE
At the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Heatworks unveiled its compact, energy-efficient dishwasher Tetra. The sleek, see-through unit is internet compatible and doesn’t need a water hookup (users add water by hand).
The Tetra sits easily on a countertop and plugs into a regular wall outlet, perfect for those living in tiny houses or apartments.
The Tetra only holds two full place settings — plates, bowls, cups and flatware — or 10 plates or 12 pint glasses.
Heatworks estimates if a two-person household switched from hand-washing to the Tetra, they would save 1,500 gallons (5,678 L) of water a year.
Plus, the Tetra is multipurpose: you can also safely cook seafood, clean fruit or do laundry with it.
The unit will cost less than US$300 and is slated to be available later this year.
