Sabres star sidelined with ankle sprain

Buffalo Sabres leading scorer Jack Eichel is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a sprained right ankle. The Sabres issued the update Sunday, a day after Eichel was hurt in Buffalo’s 4-2 win against the host Boston Bruins. Eichel was attempting to play the puck behind the Bruins net, when he was checked from behind by Boston’s Matt Grzelcyk and fell awkwardly into the boards. Eichel leads Buffalo with 22 goals and 53 points.
