DOWN TO THE FINAL FOUR

The other men’s hockey semifinal will pit the favourite Olympic Athletes from Russia against the Czech Republic.

The Czechs eliminated the United States 3-2 in a shootout in which goalie Pavel Francouz saved all five American shots.

Petr Koukal scored the Czechs’ only shootout goal.

Jim Slater and Ryan Donato scored for the U.S.

Jan Kolar and Tomas Kundratek beat American netminder Ryan Zapolski.

OAR dismantled Norway 6-1. Mikhail Grigorenko, Nikita Gusev and Vyacheslav Voynov scored first-period goals. Sergei Kalinin, Nikita Nesterov and Ivan Telegin also scored for OAR. Alexander Bonsaksen had Norway’s goal.

The Czech-OAR game has been scheduled for 2:40 a.m. ET on Friday with Canada-Germany taking the ice at 7:10 a.m. ET.
