Eight bands and two DJs are featured in the second annual Bangers and Mash Ottawa Soul Music Festival, a one-day, dual-stage celebration of the burgeoning soul/funk scene in the city. Performers in the basement bar at House of Targ, 1077 Bank St., include the London Gentleman Records Band, the Bank Street Bonbons, Harea Band, Sarah Bradley, Trevor Walker and JFUN. Upstairs at Black Squirrel Books, 1073 Bank St., you’ll hear the fine grooves of Slack Bridges, Eru-Era, TAPAS and No Fancy Pants. Tickets are $26, available at eventbrite.ca.
