The Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-est’s schools get top marks on EQAO’s 2018 testing
The results are finally out! And the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) has every reason to be proud of its students’ academic performance, with its schools achieving the best results among Ontario’s Francophone school boards on the standardized testing administered by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO). Indeed, the Conseil des écoles catholiques
du Centre-Est has reaffirmed its tradition of excellence and its leadership position in education by achieving the best results in the province on seven of the nine tests administered by the EQAO – and by doing so for a 10th consecutive year.
These remarkable results confirm that students attending the schools of the Conseil des écoles catholiques
du Centre-Est are meeting with more success at school than the students of other school boards.
Transformation of the learning experience
The excellence apparent in Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est is largely a function of the CECCE’s innovative approach to the transformation of the learning experience, with this transformation having been one of the CECCE’s priorities for the past five years. This vision is based on the most recent educational methods, which involve technological integration, a redesigned classroom and student environment, wellness, leadership, and new emerging pedagogical methods. This transformation of the learning experience is encouraging staff to innovate, to think outside the box and to employ new educational practices tailored to the competencies required in the 21st century. Students love this transformation and the results are undeniable.
Caring
Caring is certainly one of the fundamental values of Conseil des écoles catholiques
du Centre-Est. But better yet is the fact that this value has, over the years, been transformed into a genuine culture of caring within the CECCE’s various school communities.
One might wonder how caring manifests itself every day within the CECCE’s schools. The answer to this question is that it can take various forms, from one student simply greeting another, to caring challenges launched by teachers, to the willingness to help others that staff strive to instill in students. The objectives nevertheless remain the same, namely to provide a peaceful environment and optimal conditions that promote a healthy mindset among students, foster their self-confidence and motivate them to excel, at their own pace. A student who feels well will learn well, and the EQAO’s results appear to confirm this.
